PROJECT PROPOSAL ABOUT REDUCTION OF POSTNATAL INFECTIONS AMONG MOTHERS

Introduction

This proposal is to educate the community on how to reduce on postnatal infections

Postnatal infections comprise of a wide range of infections entities that can occur after vaginal and caesarean delivery or during breast feeding. In addition to trauma sustained during the birth process or caesarean procedure, physiologic changes during pregnancy contribute to the development of post-partum infections. The short period f observation may not afford enough time to exclude evidence of infection. In One study, 94% of postnatal infections cases were diagnosed after discharge from the hospital. (Cunningham et al, 2005).

I am to initially get permission from church and local leaders.

I will be helped by fellow students to run activities of the project smoothly. The following are the names of the students to assist me.

This project will be carried out in the following places;

1.     Karambi village at church of Uganda on 15^th Jan 2017 at 12:00pm-2:300pm

2.     Kamengo church of Uganda in Kamengo village on 29^th Jan 2017 at 12:00pm-2:00pm

3.     Kyarukonkoni church of Uganda on 12^th Feb 2017 at 12:00pm-2:00pm

4.     Harugongo church of Uganda on 12^th March 2017 at 12:00pm-2:00pm

Project purpose

Many people end up with postnatal infections due to lack of knowledge and failure to inquire from health workers about postnatal care at home, hence the prevalence of infections in the Kabarole district has gone high (Kabarole District Health Management information System, 2015-16).  In One study, 94% of postnatal infections cases were diagnosed after discharge from the hospital. (Cunningham et al, 2005).

Therefore this project is vital since it is meant to achieve the following objectives.

1.     To inform the community about the postnatal infections

2.     To let mothers know the prevention of postnatal infections

Therefore the project should be sponsored to educate mothers on how to prevent postnatal infections.

2.     I will be getting to know to address public places

3.     I will be getting to know how to interact with different categories of people.

PROJECT PROPOSAL ABOUT CREATION OF AWARENESS OF HEPATITIS B DISEASE, ITS PREVENTION AND TREATMENT

INTRODUCTION

This proposal is to create awareness about hepatitis b disease, its prevention and treatment.

Hepatitis B is a disease of the liver caused by Hepatitis B virus, it can be acute in adults who get it and then get better for a short time and babies who get infected with virus are likely to chronic Hepatitis B where the virus cause a long term with time.

Uganda is highly endemic with 10% national prevalence of hepatitis B infection; rates vary across the country from 4% in the Southwest and 25% in the Northeast. (Ochola et al, 2013).

This project is to be carried out during the weekend from the following locations;

·      Kiyombya village at church of Uganda on 8^th Jan 2017 at 12:00pm-2:30pm

·      Kagote church of Uganda in kagote village on 22^nd Jan 2017 at 12:00pm-2:00pm

·      Rwengoma church of Uganda on 17^th Feb, 2017 at 12:00pm-2:00pm

·      Kitumba church of Uganda in kitumba village on 26^th Feb, 2017 at 12:00pm-2:00pm

I am to initially get authorization from the church leaders and community leaders before the project activities.

I will be helped by fellow students to run activities of the project smoothly.

PROJECT PURPOSE

Many people are unaware of Hepatitis B and hence are getting infected unknowingly, of recent there is a student of Fort Portal School of Clinical officers who died of Hepatitis who also got infected unknowingly, hence the prevalence of the disease in Kabarole district is increasing and health sector has not put much effort towards preventing it. (Kabarole district HMIS, 2015-2016)

Therefore, this project is important since it aims at achieving the following objectives:

·      To let community members know the cause of hepatitis B disease

·      To let the people know how its prevented

·      To let people know who should get Hepatitis B vaccine

Therefore with the above , awareness about hepatitis B, prevention and treatment will be created among the community members which would reduce prevalence hence the project should be sponsored.

PERSONAL VALUE OF THE PROPOSED PROJECT

·      The project will benefit me by getting more knowledge about hepatitis B disease its prevention and treatments.

·      The project will benefit me by getting experience to communicate to people

·      The project would help me to know how to carry out community mobilization
